Day 20... Wants vs Expectations

As parents we sometimes intertwine what we expect from our children with what we want from them. It is okay to want better for them and want them to be better in their lives and their successful endeavors. But when we mix the two worlds we create two kinds of children who later become adults and those adults may one day become wives and husbands. We create Go-Getters and Go- Get-Yous!

The Go-Getters follow their own desires and dreams and have the drive and discernment to reach and complete their goals. They live for themselves. The Go-Get-Yous will go get YOU what YOU need and live out your dreams and aspirations. Forever trying to please YOU and make you proud and when they are unable to meet your expectations..... YOU become disappointed!

If you come across or speak to someone that is going through this let them know that your relationship with them only WANT what’s best for them... with NO EXPECTATIONS!
